Heberto M. Sanchez  Vice Chair


Mr. Sanchez serves as Vice Chair of Ridone, Inc Board of Directors, a 501c3 nonprofit organization establish in 1993 to provide cosmetology services to people with disabilities, seniors and underserved communities

He is also the Founder and President of the Latino Educational Fund (LEF), a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded to help Latinos improve their lives through scholarships and career development services and provide policy analysis; and founder and former CEO of the Latino Diabetes Association (LDA), a 501c3 nonprofit organization. He founded the LDA in the memory of his father’s death that resulted from complications caused by diabetes. His family’s experience dealing with his father’s diabetes left an impact in his life that resonates in the work of the LDA. His belief in aggressive diabetes education at the community level (i.e. housing projects, churches, schools and governmental advocacy) has helped to make the LDA a model organization and leading voice in the Latino community for diabetes awareness.

His desire to help his community stems from his parents’ belief that education is fundamental to success. He strives to encourage that commitment to education to others.

Mr. Sanchez gained a wide variety of experience in the business world working in the travelers’ insurance field as an insurance coordinator for Europ Assistance International and gained extensive managerial public services experience working for the County of Los Angeles.

Mr. Sanchez was born in Los Angeles, California and studied at California State University, Northridge, where earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Marketing and a Master’s degree in Public Administration and received the Heritage of Excellence Honors.
